My practice limits the number of insurance companies that it works with. Let me explain why. . .

As a provider of guidance, support, and mental health care to many individuals, I want to be able to focus as much of my time on working for/with my clients as possible. This work often involves extra time outside of sessions for research, professional development, and consultations with colleagues. When working with insurance companies, it is a rule of thumb for a therapist to expect to spend about an hour of extra administrative time for every session performed. So my philosophy is to forgo the relationship with many insurance companies in order for me to have the extra time to help as many people as possible and provide them with the best service that I can.

Out-of-Network Insurance Coverage

Because I am not able accept insurance for all of my clients, I do offer my clients a document called a superbill. This document can be submitted to their insurance company by the client for potential partial or full reimbursement. I do not guarantee any amount of reimbursement, therefore I recommend you call your provider directly to clarify your benefits prior to meeting with me.

Unsure of what to ask?

Here are the key items to ask about when speaking with your provider:

  1. Do I have out of network mental health benefits?

  2. If yes — What’s my deductible and how much of it has been met?

  3. If yes – What’s my copay or what percentage of the counselor’s fee is covered by my plan?

Fees/Payments

Individual initial intake session – $120 (60-75 mins)

Individual session  – $120 (50-60 mins) **

Couple’s session (2 people) – $140 (60 mins)

** I do have a limited number of sliding scale or pay what you can spots available in my schedule that are based on household income. If you would like to discuss these rates further, please let me know.

Other clinically relevant tasks (writing letters, phone calls with other professionals, filling out requested forms, etc.) – $120/hour billed in 15-minute increments. Even if I do accept your particular insurance brand, these extra services will not be covered by insurance and will need to be paid out-of-pocket.

All payments are due in full at the time of session. I accept most major credit cards as well as Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). Prior to your first scheduled paid session, you will receive a Good Faith Estimate per the “No Surprises Act” of 2022. To learn more about this act and these estimates, please visit this page.

*Cancellation policy – I require a minimum of 24 hours notice of rescheduling or cancellation of a scheduled session. If not enough notice is given or a client does not show up to a session, 75% of the session fee will be charged to the payment card on file.
